Those who are long gone
have left the door open
They’ve climbed mountains
and marked all the paths
They have bled their hearts
as ink in a million books
Every rock has been turned
and signs left there
Stars have been packaged
inside sweetest poetry
All so we may see
Yes, those who have gone
have created a tidal wave
of signs and common sense
Have brought the sun itself
down to light our way
But we are dumb to signs
still seeking on dry earth
Still reading rulebooks
to foretell the morrow
avoiding the frenzied dance
of the risen sun

This poem gives a glimpse into the Quran, if I may say so, Ali .
The Quran tells of past prophets, who took pains to awaken others, but even if signs were there, the people would not heed. Had just read this part just before I read this poem, and so saw a similar urgency
